This classification, my own, allows one to have an idea about the future shape of a plant. Actually it is very important to know which way a rhododendron grows in order to know where to plant it and above all where NOT TO PLANT IT. ¤ GROUP #1 >>> Higher than wide. A rhododendron of this group knows only one direction : the sky. The new growths are nearly at the vertical. They diverge about thirty degrees at most. This rhododendron is of the arboreal type. |
